School Chapel

Part of what makes TLS unique from other schools is regular worship. Parents, grandparents, congregation members, family, and friends are welcome to join us in chapel worship every Wednesday at 8:30. Chapel time averages 35-40 minutes. Unless a student is participating in the choir that morning, he/she is able to sit with family members when they are visiting.

Each quarter highlights a mission project that students are encouraged to support. Mission projects begin internally for quarter 1 (food pantry, shut-ins, etc.), move to local for quarter 2, a national or regional project for quarter 3, and international for our final quarter.

Students are often asked to bring in items such as, paper towels, facial tissues, socks, etc, in addition to monetary offerings. Announcements are made weekly at each chapel service.

This year, our students have provided support for our shut-ins and the Danville Rescue Mission.

Third quarter offerings will be collected for Camp CILCA.

Camp CILCA is an acronym for Central Illinois Lutheran Camping Association. It is an outdoor ministry that serves the churches and schools of Central Illinois. The purpose and mission of Camp CILCA is to strengthen people’s faith in Jesus Christ in a unique outdoor setting. Offerings will be used to purchase kayak and canoe paddles and swim buoys and ropes.
